If you are anything like me, you have a stack of books waiting to be read, on topics and ideas that are of great interest - or maybe they just had a fabulous cover! At any rate, here are some topics and ideas to get through the stack and start getting some return on your investment.
Get a reading buddy - choose a book together and meet each month to discuss what you have learned, and how you are applying your learning.
Read one book at a time.
Use post-it flags to mark areas you'd like to refer back to.
Carry a small notebook to jot down ideas that come to you as you read.
Use the exercises that are provided in books to make positive changes - pick one thing and do it for 21 days to make it a habit.
Set aside time each day to read one chapter.
Look at different options for reading, these include audio books, podcasts, books in brief and more.
And finally, if you are a third of the way through a book and it hasn't grabbed you,k let someone else learn from that book and pick up another one - it may just not be the book for you, and there are so many more to choose from!
