Program Summary:

The ability of an organization to achieve its mission is directly related to its ability to attract and deploy the requisite human resource skills, abilities and experiences in a way that adds value for the customer.

Human Resources plays an important role in forecasting the organization's labour requirements and balancing the emerging human resources demand against ascertaining the future human resource supply. In other words, where will your organization get talent necessary to compete in the future?

This practical, hands on workshop will provide participants with a basic understanding of the various forecasting techniques, demand forecasting and models for identifying labour supply.

You Will Learn:

  • 3 categories of HR forecasting activity & rationale for giving attention to specific personnel sets
  • Impacts of environment & organization variables on workforce planning estimates
  • Linkages between the HR plan, labour demand forecasting techniques, and the supply stage
  • Advantages & disadvantages of demand forecsting techniques & methods of determining personnel supply
  • The critical relationship between supply forecasting and succession planning

Presenters:

Wayne Rawcliffe, CHRP, is a facilitator, human resources consultant, business instructor and coach as well as Managing Partner at Senga Consulting. He brings over 25 years of organizational effectiveness experience to improve individual, team and organizational performance. Wayne has worked extensively with all levels of leadership in public, private and not for profit sector organizations to successfully develop and implement numerous organizational improvement initiatives. He is the co-author of the Transformational Strategic HR: Development & Implementation and Marketing for Internal Service Providers programs that align and focus attention of leaders on goal activities and a contributing editor of CCH Canadian Ltd.'s online HR manual. Wayne also serves his community as a Director on the Coastal Social Enterprises Board, past Chair of the BC HRMA Professional Development Committee, active alumni of Leadership Vancouver and an instructor at UBC and BCIT.
